"Genevieve Bell resigned in September from her position as vice-chancellor, after months of controversy over the management of the Australian National University.
It was revealed on Tuesday she received a severance package of more than $400,000.
After a period of study leave, Professor Bell will return to the university as a distinguished professor at the School of Cybernetics, earning $498,712 a year."
