🐧Steam Machine price speculation gathers steam / let's add a bit 🤫

◉Apple's known for price gouging, yes. Even their Mac Mini is ~$500 is it not.
◉ RedDragon makes mini PC for $499 /w specs close to Steam Machine - does Valve have any big reason setting the price much more than $499?
◉ Steam's record revenue prolly helps Valve to lower the final price. Special deal with AMD.

Priced as a PC is stated. Then again consoles aren't priced like game consoles no more.

Final frontier for Linux gaming's unseen levels? Kernel-level anticheat ❌

However; kernel-level ac isn't as crushingly common as painted out to be.

◉ ~10-15% of multiplayer games use kernel-level AC.
◉ All PC games lumped in (single-player) the usage is in the spheres of ~4%.

Kernel-level ac: full control over the system / its information - ultimate rootkit. Another way is needed - be it Linux OR Windows. It is not worth the risk just to play a game?
