I have just approved TINY SHUTTLECRAFT to be built in the Federation. Manufacturers have long wanted to do this, these shuttles of the very near future are inexpensive, safe, fuel efficient and, quite simply, AMAZING!!! START BUILDING THEM NOW! #StarTrek #Sisko197
In the Starfleet Technical Manual, there is a throwaway detail of the LCARS user interface that when it is upgraded, users can still utilize the previous several versions. This is because their work is mission-critical and it is unacceptable to compromise the mission by forcing unfamiliar changes; eventual retraining is part of their job, but the flexibility allows them to take the retraining at their own pace.
I think about this from time-to-time and how this is still a sci-fi idea that is seen all too rarely in how we do actual computer UIs.
Yet another future #StarTrek Enterprise alum shows up in #StargateSG1 S7 E10’s ‘Birthright’. Jolene Blalock puts in an amazing performance as a strong Jaffa leader & potential love interest for Teal’c and I’m here for it. Great story (by Judge!), well acted and I hope she and her fellow warriors return soon.
- Daniel’s “non-talking” to the young sister 🥰
- Christopher Judge gets to emote and SHINE!
- Ishta kicking Teal’c ass six ways to Sun
- Dr. Fraser is right up there with Dr. McCoy
8.5/10
Watched #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds S3 E9 ‘Terrarrium’ and it was pretty good until the end. Ultimately disappointing, pandering and unsatisfying sadly. I really hope the season finale is good. This season has been a roller coaster of unevenness.
This climatic scene at the end of #StarTrek TOS’s ‘Obsession’ has it all: life or death stakes, a grumpy Dr. McCoy, cool, logical Spock, Scotty working engineering miracles and Kirk making a final heroic entrance. I just love it.
I also LOVE that I just now noticed something new: the GIANT blast crater on the surface of Tycho IV caused by their creature-killing antimatter explosions. What a wonderful SFX update for the TOS remastering. 😃🖖
